Free Licenses for Zemana AntiLogger – 3 Days Only

Last week, we ran a highly successful free license giveaway, for Zemana AntiLogger. The response from readers was overwhelming, and as a result, Zemana Software has agreed, once again, to provide free licenses for Zemana AntiLogger (retail value $34.00 U.S. each), in support of Tech Thoughts “Stay Safe on the Internet Campaign”.

In this latest giveaway, we have streamlined the process for downloading a licensed version of Zemana AntiLogger. Simply click on the link at the end of this review, and you will be provided with a free license instantly. This giveaway will end February 1, 2010, at 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (North America). This is a one day extension of the original offer, courtesy of Zemana.

Hundreds of readers missed out on the last offer since we simply ran out of licenses – if you missed out; this is your opportunity to get your license direct.

Update: January 31, 2010 @ 10:30 EST – Zemana’s license server may have intermittent problems in issuing a license.Cyber crimininals have launched a denial of service attack against Zemana, which included 100,00o requests per second from a network of bots. Zemana has hardened its defenses as a result, so we don’t expect this issue to continue. We apologize for the inconvenience. All license requests will be honored by Zemana.

For more information on this attack, please read our just posted article – Zemana AntiLogger Server Attacked by Bots.

If you have any problems installing the free license, or issues with the software, please contact Zemana support directly for assistance. You’ll find them to be fast, efficient, and courteous.

Here’s a graphic of the landing page (be sure to click on the link at the end of this article to get to this page).

Zemana Registration Page

Despite the best efforts by anti-malware developers to meet new threats head-on, cybercriminals will respond, as they always have, by generating even more diverse threats to evade detection and elimination. So, button up your overcoat and get your rain gear ready; 2010 is going to be the stormiest malware year to date!

After reading the following review of Zemana AntiLogger, I’m sure you’ll agree, this is an application that will increase your sense of safety as you surf the Internet.

Zemana AntiLogger – An Ounce of Prevention

Detective We’ve previously discussed Keylogger malware here, and how to employ an ounce of prevention by using highly regarded SnoopFree Privacy Shield, a free application, which unfortunately, is compatible with Windows XP only.

Because Keyloggers, are a particularly sinister type of malware, that, amongst other tasks, monitors every keystroke a user types on a computer’s keyboard, are often executed as part of a rootkit, or a remote administration (RAT) Trojan horse, they can be extremely difficult to detect, and remove.

While it’s true, that many good quality malware and spyware detection tools should capture Keyloggers, and a properly configured Firewall should prevent all authorized connections, the reality is – this is definitely NOT always the case. Keyloggers in fact, can disable Firewalls, and anti-malware tools.

Since my personal home machines now run on Windows 7, I can no longer protect against Keyloggers using SnoopFree Privacy Shield, so I had to find an alternative. Unfortunately, I could not find a freeware substitute application. However, I did find a competitively priced application, Zemana AntiLogger, following a reader’s recommendation, which I’ve been testing for just under 30 days.

I was immediately impressed by this application, particularly the system defense function. The application intercepted proposed changes to system files NOT picked up by other security applications on my system.

Since I use a Webcam extensively for communicating, I was more than happy to see the active Webcam protection offered by Zemana AntiLogger, which was immediately apparent.

Test Screens:

image

This is an example of a Zemana warning, triggered by my launching an anonymous proxy application which by design, injects code into my primary Browser. By checking an appropriate check box I established a rule, permitting this action in future.

image

This is an example of a Zemana warning, triggered by my updating both Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes definition databases which, in each case, will make changes to system files. Simply checking a check box establishes a rule, which will permit this action in future.

image

This is an example of a Zemana warning, triggered by a screen capture utility I was in the process of using. If this had been an illegal activity. I would of course, have received the same warning. Again, simply checking a check box establishes a rule, which will permit this action, by this utility, in future.

Part of the testing procedure in testing the ability of Zemana AntiLogger to block Keyloggers, included the use of Anti-Keylogger Leak Tester, which tests for 7 different keylogging attacks. All attacks were easily defeated by Zemana AntiLogger.

Hi Bill. I seem to be having the same problem as some other people in activating the licence code. I have gone by the instructions on the site and it isn’t happening. Any ideas on how to get it to activate?

    • Siam

Hi Bill. Thanks for being so responsive to queries. It is really appreciated. I seem to be having the same problem as some other people: that is, I can’t get the licence key validated. It keeps coming up with a message saying that I have inputed the wrong code. I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times now and tried three different codes (each time I clicked on the link to get the activation info page it gave me a new code). Any ideas on how to get this to work?

    • Bill Mullins

      Hi John,

No, you’re not unlucky – this difficulty seems to be an on and off problem..

Zemana assured me early today that the problem had been resolved, and it appeared to be since I received confirmation from other readers that they had downloaded a license. Following up on your email, I see that a problem exists just as you describe.

As I’m writing this, I just rechecked the page, and it seems to be working again.

My sincere apologies – what a balls up!

    • Bill Mullins

      Hi Max,

I’ve been using this app for over a month, and I must say – I’m impressed.

According to Zemana customer support, the free license *must* be activated by the end of the day on January 31.

      Best,

      Bill

  52. enjoyment

Hi Bill, what do I need to get this key? We wrote in the comments but the key did not come earlier. Please come get this time.

    • Bill Mullins

      Enjoyment,

Please read the article *carefully*. As the article explained, the number of licenses was limited and your comment was not posted until well after all the licenses had been subscribed.

If you read the article *carefully*, you will find a redirect to a new article containing a link from which you can get a free license immediately.

      Bill

  53. Max

Ok, then I will install it in the next days.

Btw. your download link is broken; the right one would be: http://www.zemana.com/DE/download.aspx?product=ZAL

    • Bill Mullins

Thanks for the info on the broken link Max. It seems Zemana is having a host of problems with their servers.

I have another desktop in my house (besides the dual boot system). Do i needseparate keys fr each installation?

    THANKS!!!
Installed and registered Zemana Antikeylogger ,
    license valid till 30/1/2011/
But I think for certain application to run,you gotta first disable the protection mode,What do you think of it?

    • Bill Mullins

      Hey Kingpin,

No, don’t turn off the protection mode. The application allows you to create a rule for all software. So, do that – create a rule.

Update: January 29, 2010 @ 11:30 EST – Zemana’s license server may have intermittent problems in issuing a license. We don’t expect this issue to continue. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Can’t seem to get the license… any ideas??

    p.s. love your blogs

    • Bill Mullins

Over 1,000 licenses have been downloaded in the last 15 hours through that link, and I’ve been monitoring it all day to ensure it stays up. So far, so good. Based on this, I can’t answer you directly as to why you have been experiencing problems. I’m sorry that you have been.

The only solution, for now, weak and unsatisfactory as it is – is to keep trying. If, by the time the offer expires, you have still not received a license, contact me on Monday and I will make special arrangements for you to receive a license.

      Bill

  65. John

    Hi Bill,

Just to say thanks. Finally got Zemana and a valid licence after the initial server problems.

    Cheers
    John

PS I do have one other issue and it may or may not be caused by Zemana. I also loaded Z on the wifes pc, and now when I boot up I can’t get past the XP welcome and music, and then to the desktop background, and then nothing, no taskbar or anything. The only thing I can access is the task manager by crt, alt, del, and it says there are about thirty processes running.

Hey I know this is not the place to be asking these questions, but I’m desperate cause I don’t know what to do, and worse than that the wife is not too pleased with me either which is even worse.

Off course please delete whatever parts of this message that you need to.

    John

    • Bill Mullins

      John,

I haven’t heard of a problem with Zemana like this. But…….

The easiest way is to do the following:

Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard.

Press last “Known Good Configuration” – this option starts Windows by using the previous good configuration.

      Good luck,

      Bill

  66. Sueann

    Hi Bill,
I downloaded this and I like it, but I can’t get the license from the link you provided. Is there a way I can get it before the time runs out? If so, please let me know. Thanks

    • Bill Mullins

      Hi Sueann,

I’m disappointed to see that their server is down again. Since there is a 7 hour difference between Toronto (me), and Istanbul (them), I can’t confirm, for you, when the problem will be rectified. So, 3 suggestions – you can check back with the server every so often, you can contact their customer support who will issue a license or, email me on Monday, and I’ll make sure I’ll get a license for you.

I should point out, that they have issued over 1,000 licenses, just today, and I suspect that they were unprepared for the volume of requests.

      Best,

      Bill

  67. airfrance

  74. Ramesh Kumar

    Dear Bill,
I am facing exactly the same problem as John despite trying 12 times since yesterday & today – when I boot up I can’t get past the XP welcome and music, and then to the desktop background, and then nothing, no taskbar or anything. The only thing I can access is the task manager by crt, alt, del, and it says there are about thirty processes running.

I copied & even wrote down on paper the registration code. It asked me to restart my pc so that the installation wizard could complete its task.

I restarted to find that Zemana icon appeared on my system tray. After that my booting just idled & never happened despite 12 restarts (over yesterday & today). Unless it started there was no way I could paste my license code into it.

I cannot even confirm if Zemana could initialize properly since neither clicking its icon on the tray or restarting achieved results. I uninstalled & reinstalled 8 times.

I opened up totally in order to install Zemana – including fully freeing up my parental control & web guard software – K9 Web Protection. I had uninstalled SnoopFree before installing Zemana since Zemana had stated that it was incompatible with SnoopFree. I could not be more open-door in my efforts to install Zemana.

I am on WinXP Professional SP2 32 bit operating system.

I could restore my system & uninstall Zemana but am unable to install Zemana Antilogger.

    Please guide

    Ramesh

      Ramesh,

I appreciate the difficulties you’ve had with this, but the best solution at this point, is to contact Zemana support .

How would you explain that Zemana Antilogger size, changed in a couple of days during this giveaway:

    Before 4 days was:
    v.192.163 size 4.612 kb

and before 2 days and now is:
    v.192.164 size 6.832 kb

What have they added urgently to the new “free” version?

And please dont tell me some kind of definitions, its not supposed to be antivirus or something like that (even if it was so, the difference is too big). Nor can I believe that they re-wrote or re-compiled the code just now…

Its obvious that some kind of extra code was inserted.
(and all users who update automatically or manually will be subject of course to the new version and the extra code)

I am wondering what that may be?
Perhaps happy users of Zemana could ask directly their support.

    My “feeling” is no good…

But I can say for sure, that its not a coincidence to give unlimited licenses for 3 days JUST after they added “something” to their software…

It says officially: “# Last Updated: Friday, January 29, 2010”

P.S. In their logs they say “Minor bugs were fixed on both memory management and Anti keylogger module “.

Too big difference in size for such minor changes, I would notice.

    • Bill Mullins

      Nek4d,

I took a look at some of your other comments posted elsewhere on the web, and what struck me immediately is – you are one angry person. I also noticed that you like to make claims that you are only protecting innocent people. What nonsense! You’re just an arrogant and rude wannabe.

If you have an accusation to make (My “feeling” is no good), have the courage to make it, and then we’ll deal with that.

    Bill,

Is Zemana effective as a stand alone system? I currently run McAfee on 2 pcs with take up around 200MB of memory. Zemana is beautiful as it takes up as little as 2MB in my tray and only 8 while open.

However I read that this program is designed to work WITH anti-virus programs. Does this mean that it is not effective at the other processes that McAfee, Norton, Avast, etc do to protect our system?

It’s not money…because McAfee is free for me as a comcast client, but I would LOVE to enjoy the boosted performance with the extra memory. Just not at the expense of my computer data.

Any response would be greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    Jim

      Hi Jim,

Zemana is NOT an AV, but as you stated, is designed to work with your AV. It is very effective in protecting against keyloggers.
