A Sunday Mind Teaser

imageMy favorite Bus driver (and, good friend) Mike, was at it again this week with the usual comic email forwards – with the occasional naughty pic thrown in; to keep the interest up.   Smile

Along with the usual, came a tough mind bender – which, I failed at miserably.

See if you can figure out what these seven words all have in common.

1. Banana
2. Dresser
3. Grammar
4. Potato
5. Revive
6. Uneven
7. Assess

Are you peeking, or have you already given up?

Give it another try…. Look at each word carefully. You’ll kick yourself when you discover the answer. This is so cool…..

No, it is not that they all have at least 2 double letters…. Let me know if you found the answer – I didn’t. Not even close.

Answer is below. No peaking!

In all of the words listed, if you take the first letter, place it at the end of the word, and then spell the word backwards, it will be the same word. Did you figure it out? No? Then send this to more people and stump them as well. You’ll feel better too – maybe.   Smile

Game Giveaway of the Day – Turtle Lu

    • Hey Delenn13,

Had to drop the old IQ down more than a few points after that one. I’m now bordering on the marginal. 🙂

Turtle Lu looks really charming – I suspect that not only adults will get a kick out of this one, but kids as well. Thank you.

Now, you go and watch the Fireworks and have a blasting good time. 🙂

Where we live(close to lake Erie) we can usually see/or hear fireworks at least once a week from our porch. Last night at our party..the party 2 houses over had fireworks:)

Plus we have the “Best of Both Worlds” this weekend.

The Friendship Festival is an annual celebration of the bond between Canada and the United States. This event is held in Fort Erie, Ontario and Buffalo, New York, which are connected by the Peace Bridge. The festival began in 1987 and is held from June 29 to July 4. These dates encompass Canada Day (July 1) and Independence Day (July 4). The festival also marks the nearly 200 year state of official peace between the two neighbors since the end of the War of 1812.

    • Hey Delenn13,

It’s an amazing story really – 200 years without conflict. I don’t think there are 2 neighbours elsewhere in the World that can match that record. The Festivals you reference are a good indication of just how tight we are as neighbours. Mind you, 9/11 and its aftermath, has caused its share of strain.

    Hi Bill,

I haven’t looked at the answer but I notice the second letter of each word is the same as the last. Seems too simple, but it’s my best shot.

    Kind regards

    • Hi John,

Not to repeat myself – but, “Regular readers here are smart people – very smart people.” You continue to prove the point. 🙂

You’re better than half way to solving the puzzle. Sure beats me. 🙂

  4. John Bent

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for the clue. Looking at it again I now see that the second, third and fourth letters are the same as the last three reversed. I knew my answer was too simple :).

As for being smart, I just have a natural affinity with words. You should see me with numbers :(.

    Kind regards,

  5. Nice one, need to find more teaser like this for relaxation.

  6. Awesome! More please. They are Palendrome wannabees?
