XSS Flaw discovered in Skype’s Shop, user accounts targeted – The independent security researcher Ucha Gobejishvili has detected a cross site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities affecting shop.skype.com and api.skype.com. Upon successful exploitation the vulnerability allows an attacker to hijack cookies via required user interaction, leading to complete session hijacking and stealing of the account.

Dropbox Adds Automatic Photo Uploads – Dropbox wants to be your online photo repository with a new feature that automatically uploads full-size copies of your snaps to Dropbox whether you’re on a Mac or Windows PC, Android phone, or (coming soon) an iOS device.

Bogus “Scan from a HP OfficeJet” notifications lead to malware – Notifications about documents purportedly having been scanned and sent via a HP OfficeJet printer/scanner are targeting users again and trying to trick them into opening the attached HTML files. The campaign is widespread, and the subject lines and the content of the sent emails, as well as the name of the attached file, are constantly changed a little bit in order to try and bypass spam filters.

Google Promises Chrome Won’t Track – Google will add support for “Do Not Track” to its Chrome browser by the end of this year. The move is a reversal for Google, which has resisted supporting the technology that lets users opt out of the online tracking conducted by websites and advertisers. Google’s change of heart came as the White House this week pushed a privacy bill of rights and said it would introduce new online privacy legislation in Congress.

Apple Pushes Back Deadline for Sandboxing OS X Apps – Apple has pushed back the deadline for developers to include a sandbox in all of the apps on the Mac App Store, giving them a reprieve until June 1. The deadline was set for March 1, but Apple has changed it in order to give developers more time to work with the new requirements.

Flickr adds Pinterest opt-out code to copyrighted photos – To prevent piracy, the Yahoo-owned photo-sharing site adds the virtual pinboard’s new “do-not-pin” code to all Flickr pages with copyrighted or protected images, VentureBeat reports.
