Regular readers will know, that I have tested and recommended previous versions of both the free, and pro versions of Advanced SystemCare. While I haven’t yet had a chance to comprehensively test Advanced SystemCare 5 PRO, I have little doubt this version continues to provide a super convenient solution for PC maintenance and protection.

I did however, start it up – perform a quick scan – and was not surprised to see the “Poor” PC Health notice, since this particular test platform is scheduled for an OS reinstall later in the week.

    Hi Bill,
How do you think it compares to one of the other well-known pc optimizer’s in the market?

    Cheers,
    John

    • Hi John,

This is a very well rounded application with a surprising degree of functionality. There’s not much missed in this one.

Recommend that you take advantage of this offer.

      Best,

      Bill

        Bill,
OK, I will take it for a spin. Now again looking at my world clock I have 8.48 hr to go. :D

        Cheers,
        John

    Hey Bill,
I will definitely be getting this. It’s a great application, and well worth the download. I would recommend it to anyone.
    Cheers

    • Hey Mal,

I had a chance to put this through some testing after I got the post up. There are major difference between the pro version, and the free version.

Definitely agree with you – this should be on everyone’s download list.

      Best,

      Bill

  3. Hi, Bill.

I think you might have to change this post’s title. I’ve visited IObit’s website and they are NOT offering that software for free. They offer a $6.98 discount.
Shure they add some bloatware to your basket so they can claim that they’re offering 80% savings, but it’s just support for an additional PC and an eBook.

You can see a screenshot here:

    • Hey Wookie Sidecar,

Just paid a visit to the site and I do agree, it’s very confusing.

The way to access the free offer, according to the site is – “Please simply enter your beloved email in the box below then a letter with giveaway details will be sent to him/her immediately.” Doing so, leads to this – “Sorry, currently our mail server is overloaded due to too many participants. The gift mail may not be delivered instantly but we will try our best to guarantee the delivery.”

Not a good experience – but, for now, I’ll rely on the company to deliver on its promise. Not delivering, could have market repercussions.

      Bill

  4. Hi, again, Bill.

That mail server is overloaded message was already there 5 hours ago. I tried at 10 GMT+1, very late at night in the USA. If at that time the server was overloaded, what will happen now that both Americans and Europeans are awake? I don’t think it will get any better.

I don’t like to jump to conclusions but it looks to me like they tricked you with lies and got some free publicity.

A shame, if it is so.

    Wookie

    • Hey Wookie Sidecar,

      Thanks for the additional info.

Just updated the post to advise readers of the mail server issue.

The offer is genuine – but, planning for the bump in traffic seems to have been less than adequate.

      Bill

I remember a few years ago Acronis offered one of their prized programs for 24 hours and they were totally swamped..just like this. I got my email from them 2 or 3 days later with download site and code.

So I am thinking..it will be the same. Iobit have too much to lose not to come through on what they promised.

    • Hey Delenn13,

Sure – we’ve been through this sort of thing more than a few times. Still, appearance is everything. Getting caught short on server up-time has the potential to create bad feelings before a customer relationship even develops. Sort of defeats the point.

Sponsored a giveaway for Zemana couple of years ago (they built a special Tech Thoughts page for the giveaway), and almost immediately the server crashed. Within an hour, they brought additional servers online to handle the rush. Smart people – smart solution. Happy customers.

      Best,

      Bill

  7. If you have WOT, look at the ratings of that site (yellow WOT indicator). Comments show lots of allegations of spamming and that the s/w is a ripoff of Malwarebytes.

Think I’ll steer clear of this one.

    • Hey Stormin’ Norman,

Not once have I been spammed by IObit in the years I’ve used their free products. Nor, am I aware of any readers here who have been. A Google search for IObit+ spamming – yields no results.

I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating – despite my strong support for WOT, I’m well aware that user input has been, and continues to, be a source of controversy. I am not alone in suggesting, there’s a certain unjustified vindictiveness frequently exhibited by the same raters. I have direct knowledge of this and, this nonsense weakens WOT’s reliability.

There is not a single rating service (other than WOT) – not one – which suggests IObit spams.

As for the Malwarebytes controversy (and, I’m a strong supporter of MalwareBytes), the issue of a one time accusation of a “stolen” malware database (not the software), was not pursued by MalwareBytes – despite their assertions.

IObit has proven itself to be a reliable developer which provides some of the best freeware applications available.

      Best,

      Bill

  8. Dear Bill and the readers,

We are sorry for any inconvenience that caused to you when your join in the giveaway.
“Sorry. Currently our mail server is overloaded due to too many participants. The gift mail may not be delivered instantly but we will try our best to guarantee the delivery.”

Appreciation for your support all the times.

  9. Are those who signed up for your giveaway on the 14th, and have not yet heard back from you, no longer eligible for the giveaway?

  10. John Bent

    Hi Bill,

I’ve used Advanced SystemCare Pro for a while and upgraded to V5 recently. I’ve had no problems with it so far. I am aware of a “debate” with Malwarebytes but, as I use that as well, I think I’m being fair (anyway is it my problem?).

As far as the delay is concerned, you will recall I had a similar problem with a DAZ giveaway, but got it eventually.

    Kind regards
    John

  11. Am very disappointed with Iobit’s offer. I registered within the time frame (expecting a bit of a delay due to the offer being bound to attract a lot of attention). Today is March 5th, 2012 and I still have not heard a thing from Iobit. Not even an email to say something along the lines of “Apologies for the delay but we will honor our promise!”

    • Hi Kelperk,

I’m sorry to hear that. You’re not alone – I’m one of those who didn’t get a license.

As I said to Delenn13, just a few hours ago -“Their products will never cross the threshold of this space again – not ever. The worst case of unprofessional conduct I’ve seen in decades.”

I should point out that I get frequent requests from IObit to review their products, but as I said – “Their products will never cross the threshold of this space again – not ever.”

      Bill

    • delenn13

Ditto! I even emailed them and didn’t get an answer. Not a happy camper.

      • Hey Delenn13,

Just heard from IObit (I guess they follow my comments closer than I thought). I’ll post their response tomorrow (it’s all good).

In the meantime use this number they just sent me – License Code:79818-39C67-6AD87-1B8D4

        Best,

        Bill

    • Hi again Kelperk,

Just heard from IObit (I’ll post their response in the AM). In the meantime, here’s a license. License Code:79818-39C67-6AD87-1B8D4
